Nestled on one of the most beautiful tree-lined streets in Manhattan, Number 12 is a solid, six-story structure converted from the original foundation of a single 19th century townhouse in the early 1950's.
A recent renovation was carefully conceived and carried out in an effort to enhance the unique architectural aspects of the building. In keeping with the Craftsman-style façade and existing mid-century interior aesthetic, the designer commissioned period entrance doors, and installed appropriate crown mouldings throughout. Decorative elements include:
Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired lighting fixtures int/ext.
Flexible Terrazzo tiled lobby floor
Framed art from the portfolios of Berenice Abbott, Lazlo Maholy-Nagy, and Man Ray
Brass hardware and bronze finish accents
The color scheme is based on the existing original Tennessee marble lobby steps and staircases.
Pre war building on West 9th Street, one of Manhattan's most desirable locations
